It's been quiet here...

... I know, and I apologise! I promise to upload the remainder of my Valentine's Day creations very soon! It just so happens that I was on holidays recently, and since my return all I do is working on the wedding invites. Sneak-peeks of these to follow also! ;)

Thanks for being patient with me,

Saturated Canary Easel card

I wanted to give the Valentine's Cards a little break on my blog, and so I decided to share another project I was working on over the weekend. From the moment I saw the Saturated Canary colour challenge - I knew I wanted to give it a try, as the colour combo - whilst absolutely gorgeous - would rather not be my first choice. Challenging indeed! :-)

I do not own any other SC images other than the one below, and so I decided to use it - who knows, maybe one day I will win some, to add to my collection? ;-) The images are lovely, so winner or not - I will probably end up with a few more in the nearest future anyway ... If you have not seen these before - you should definitely have a peek!

I used Neenah Solar White paper for printing the digi, a few Copics for colouring. The backing paper came free with a crafty magazine (perfect for the challenge!). The brown cardstock is by Papermania. Good old (and currently the only one I own!) Apron Lace Fiskars punch, some Vintage Photo Distress Ink for edging, pearls from the stash and...voila!  Oh, and I used some Spellbinders and XCut dies, too.

I decided to go with an easel card, since I find them very cute and girly - perfect to go with the image and colour combo! I am sure you all know how to create an easel card, but if you would like any help or a tutorial - give me a shout!

Anyhow, here's the card, hope you like it. I forgot to mention - the original image has a Breast Cancer Awareness ribbon on the T-shirt, but I covered it with a little pink flower, to match the background a bit:

Love is in the air...

Since Valentine's Day is close, I decided to take a risk and make a few cards for sale "in advance". I usually make cards based on the order & people's requests, but this time the gorgeous Penny Black images were just there, looking at me, and asking to be used... I couldn't resist and say no! ;-) Even if I used the little cuties only on a few of the cards, they were definitely my inspiration anyhow!

Below are a few of the cards are made. More to follow in the coming days...

Ingredients: Penny Black Every Which Way stamps, Anita's Square Quality Cream Cards, some black cardstock from my stash, Neenah Solar White paper for stamping, Copics for colouring, Glossy Accents, Stickles, red ribbon, gems & little hearts from my stash. Backing paper: 1st card - K&Company Designer Mat Pad - Julianne Vintage, 2nd card - made from white cardstock, with use of Barn Door Distress Ink by Ranger & Floral Fantasy Cuttlebug embossing folder. Apron Lace Fiskars border punch.

I would like to enter these into the following challenges:

Totally Gorjuss - Love!
Penny Black - Love and Marriage
Creative Creations Challenges - It must be love
Inky Chicks - Valentine or Anniversary
Forever Friends - Monthly Challenge (Animals/Butterflies/Birds)
Inky Impressions - Love
Cute Card Thursday - Love Struck

And what happened with the "sale"? I am proud to say that all cards sold out in just one day, and I was asked to make more! I did have a plan B, however... I would simply have a stash of Valentine's Day cards ready for the coming years for my Other Half ;-)

Bon Voyage

It feels like ages since the last post but I can assure you - I have not been completely lazy! There's a lot on my plate at the moment, and there probably will be quite a bit there for a while... But crafting keeps me going, it's a nice way to unwind and relax! :)

Just a quick post today, to show a Bon Voyage card I made. At the moment, it's of course mostly the Valentine's theme that keeps me busy, but it's nice to make something non-Valentine's Day related every now and then, too!

The Bon Voyage card is fairly simple, using some images that I found online, and paper from my stash. I also decided to use some of the recently purchased Kraft cardstock, and made little tags out if it. The card was for a friend who was leaving Ireland, and myself and 3 other girls decided to give her a little something - hence the inside has 4 tags, for messages from each of us. I have to say, I am quite proud of this idea :)

Hope you like it, stay tuned for some of the Valentine's Day cards in the coming days!
