A "thank you" bunny

Today's card is unfortunately another one of those with not the best photo... But yet again I am working on cards for friends in late evening hours, and photos had to be taken in a bit of darkness...

I wanted to try a new technique on this card, but I don't think I achieved the effect I wanted... The image is stamped on tissue paper and I was hoping for it to look a bit more scrunched, but somehow it almost fully straightened out... I guess I'll need to give it a go some time again! I think I even know what I did wrong, so here's to hoping for better results next time! :)

The image is the same LOTV Bunny I used in the previous post, and as usual I coloured it with my ProMarkers and Copics - they seem to bleed quite a bit on the tissue paper, but in real life it actually looks quite cool on the bunny as it adds a bit of "fluffiness" - not that great in the pics, though!

Anyhow, wishing you sweet dreams and off I go to bed (or so I hope!). Have a peek at the card:

Happy Bday with a Bunny

Hi Everyone,

A very quick post today, and with a very quickly (and badly!) taken photos... I was in a rush with the card, and in even more rush with the pics, hence I took them too quickly AND at night - you can see the results below... Lesson learnt - never again!

Anyhow, the card was made for a child's bday, and I made myself a challenge of making a card from scraps... To be perfectly honest, I am not 100% happy with the result, but when I think of the fact that I used scraps - I guess it's not the worst... I tried water-colouring this time as opposed to the usual ProMarkers and Copics... I think I like the markers better...

It doesn't show too well in the pictures, but the ears, paws, the little nose and the crayons were glossy-accented. I could not live without Glossy Accents! ;-)

I am entering the card into the following challenges:
Love to Create - Something for Kids
QKR Stampede - Children's cards
Creative Creations - For a Child
Inky Impressions - Distress it

Have a good evening,

Another Mother's Day card

Hello Everyone,

An absolutely gorgeous & sunny day in Dublin today, I'm hoping your Sunday is equally sunny and lovely!

Today I want to share with you a Mother's Day card that I made for my friend (she actually ordered more than one but they are still "in the making"). I was recently peeking at A Gem of a Challenge and their sketch, and I think this is why the card "accidentally" happens to follow it :) It's a great sketch, and I will definitely follow it some time in the future again!

Here's the card, I hope you like it. I am giving it to my friend tomorrow, so am hopeful that she will like it, too! The inside is still unfinished, but I will need to personalise it with a requested message, hence I took the photos beforehand.

The flowers and the little heart are glossy-accented:

Baby Pram card

Hello Everyone,

This is the first post I am setting to appear on a particular schedule, so fingers crossed it worked!

Today's card was made for the Divas by Design challenge blog, where I am one of the Design Team members. A great challenge this week - Shape it up! When I read the challenge theme, the first thing that came to my mind was a card I saw somewhere ages ago. I always wanted to give it a try, and I finally had the opportunity to do so!

I believe if I make this card again, I will add more embellishments and cute baby-related stuff, but since this was a "prototype", I decided to keep it relatively simple. The card stands on its own, it's decorated on both sides - which makes it pretty cool!, and even though there isn't an awful amount of space to write in it - I think for many it will be enough :-) Now that I think of it, half of the card would work greatly as a tag attached to a gift!

All I used to make this card were Spellbinders scalloped circles & circles, and then some papers and a border punch. You could also use lace - I tried it, but it's not really my style, and so I wasn't too happy with it... I personally think the punched edge looks less messy...

What do you think about the card?

Here you can see both sides of the card:

Happy shaping!

Mother's Day THANK YOU box

Good afternoon Everyone,

I am feeling rather crafty this weekend - just made another creation, and thought I would share it now, seeing  that I have a free moment or two... A few days ago I showed you a Mother's Day card I made... Well, this morning I bought a gift for my Mum (which is a surprise!), and so I thought that I could make a nice box for the pressie... I went for the same LOTV image I used for the card, and I coloured it in a very similar way. No paper piecing this time, though. But even though I used a different shade of purple, I still stayed faithful to her favourite tones :) I also made little bows with a matching ribbon, and then had a lot of fun (not!) trying to stick the fiddly tiny letters... They require a lot of patience, but the end result is quite impressive, I have to say! All in all, I am happy with the result!

What do you think?

Since the pressie is a surprise, for photo purposes
I used an empty CD box as a "gift"

And here are the card and the box together -
different shades of purple, but still purple! :)

I am entering it into the following challenges:
A Gem of a Challenge - Things with wings
Lili's Little Fairies - Anything but a card
Inky Impressions - Mother's Day/For a Lady
I love Promarkers - Thank you

Thanks for visiting me,

Who-o Who-o has a Birthday?

Good morning Everyone,

Today I am sharing a quick birthday card I made for my fiance's Auntie. I was advises last night that we were going to a surprise bday party, and I just really didn't want to show up with empty hands... When you are a crafter/card-maker, people have certain expectations from you! I am sure all of you get abuse if you bring a shop-bought card!?!

I was advised the Birthday Girl liked owls, hence I quickly put together a paper-pieced easel card with an owl on it (googly eyes were a must here!). I also added a suitable sentiment, and was even tempted to use the word "BIRD-DAY", but I didn't want to push it! ;-) I used one of the papers that I have treasured for the last year and a bit - it seemed just to pretty to be used! I completely forgot which collection the paper is from - if anyone knows, please let me know!

Hope you like the card - the Birthday Girl was delighted!

And a few close-ups to show the lovely glittery paper

I am entering the card into the following challenges:
A Gem of a Challenge - Things with wings
QKR - spring or pink/yellow/green (the flowery background reminds me of spring)
Inky Impressions - Mother's Day or For a Lady
Love to Create - For Mom or Special Lady

Have a good Sunday!

Mother's Day Card

Just a quick post to share a Mother's Day card I am making for my Mum. Last year, the one I posted to Her got lost on its way, which made me really upset! This year I am actually going to be in Poland for the day, so I can hand-deliver it. This will ensure the card makes it to its recipient, but it also gave me the opportunity to make the card a bit more dimensional & use a few flowers. So much fun!

I will post more photos tomorrow/over the weekend, when the time & weather are better for taking snaps! Btw, can you tell that my Mum loves purple? ;-)

And this is what the card looks like during the day:

Exploding Box for a wedding

Good evening Everyone,

Another busy week behind me, an equally busy one ahead, but I found a few free moments to post something here! For those of you who have a day off tomorrow - enjoy! And I sincerely hope you're going to have an equally lovely day, as we did today in Dublin, even though I will only see it through the window in my office ;-) I also hope that this is only the start of proper spring/soon-to-come-summer, and not just the odd lucky day!

Today I decided to share an Exploding Box with you. I made it for a friend, on behalf of her work colleagues - we needed a lot of space for signing the card, so the box was just perfect! I also added a little pocket for a voucher that we gifted her. I managed to ask the bride-to-be about her wedding theme colours, without her being too suspicious of my reasons for it - and therefore black, white and red appeared on the box!

My friend was absolutely thrilled with the card, and apparently the box got a lot of compliments from her family and friends. Not a bad achievement, seeing that it was only the second box I have made so far!

I am entering the box into the following challenges:
Creative Creations Challenges - Weddings
Love To Create - Punches and/or dies
A Gem of a challenge - Make it sentimental
Inky Chicks - Shabby chic

Enjoy the last hours of Sunday,

M.
