Cupcake Shaker Card

Hello Everyone,

Hope you're having a lovely weekend... I had a busy one, with a whole-day workshop with Finnabair (Anna Dabrowska) being the definite highlight of it! As a card-maker I found the workshop a bit scary at first, but with all the other lovely participants and Ania herself - I soon got hooked on mixed media, and I am quite happy with the results... I will post about these some other day when I get a few photos from the class.

Today I would like to share a quick shaker card I made for a friend who is leaving from the company we're both working for. She's a fantastic baker, and her cakes and cupcakes have no competition - damn I will miss these! She's also a rather girly girl, and so pinks, cupcakes & sequins seemed like a perfect combo for her!

I know that the above might not be a perfect photo,
but I just wanted to share the lovely sunny weather with you all!

I am entering the card into the following challenges:

Pretty Pink Posh - Sequin Shaker Card
Inky Impression - Recycle it - used acetate from an apple crumble cake box ;-)

Hope you like it!

Playing with Zodiac...

Hello Everyone,

Hope you had a fantastic Easter, and that at least some of you had a long(er) weekend! I had today off but I have to say - I actually don't feel like I've been off for the last 3 days! I am always hungry for extra time off, I guess ;-)

Today I want to share a "Zodiac" card with you... It's actually a card for name-day celebrations, but I thought that using the recipient's zodiac/star sign could add a bit of a twist to the card... Especially when taking into consideration that this particular recipient doesn't really celebrate his birthday...

I turned the little Capricorn into a spinner card. If you follow me on YouTube, you would have seen my recent penny spinner/slider creations, and one of my hauls also showed the Mama Elephant Cosmic Stars stamp set. It's the first time I've used Mama Elephant stamps and I have to say - I am well impressed! The quality is fantastic! I think I'm gonna have to get some more...! The fact that their stamps are also super cute doesn't really help my wallet much here - you know I {heart} cute!

Anyhow - moving on to the card:

As you can see, the card is rather clean and simple... A few sequins here and there (there are a few on the inside of the card, too --> I used flat ones for the inside), a bit of sparkle on the Capricorn... I printed the sentiment on the same patterned paper that I used for the background - made it stand out a little by distressing the edges. The most entertaining part of the card is, of course, the spinning bit!

Hope you like the little spinning Capricorn. I am entering him into the following challenges:

Have a great evening and rest of the week,

Easter Celebrations Part II

Hello again,

Everything ready for Easter? I am just back from work, cake is in the oven, and shopping in the fridge... Now a few more bits and bobs to do and...we're done!

I would like to take this opportunity and wish all my
followers and visitors
a lovely and full of spring-like moods Easter!
Hope a lot of cute chicks and bunnies visit your homes!
(and hopefully they won't make too much mess, haha)
Just remember - don't have too much chocolate!
And to the Polish folk out there - I also wish you
"Mokrego Dyngusa! :D

Today, as promised, a second portion of my (very few) Easter creations for 2014. Very similar to the card I made last year with this same Lili of the Valley stamp - he was actually part of my 2014 "card force", too, since back then I made him too late for posting.

I am entering the card into the following challenges:
A Gem of a Challenge - Spring is in the air
Passion for Promarkers - All creatures great and small
QKR stampede - Spring celebrations
Inky Impressions - Easter Challenge

Enjoy your weekends and Easter, Everyone!

Easter 2014 Part I

Hello Everyone,

Time to share some new creations with you, and this time it's all about Easter! :o) There's just something way too cute about Easter bunnies, lambs, eggs and chicks - I had to make at least a few Easter creations. They're (hopefully) safely on their way to their recipients, so I would imagine it's safe enough to share them with you now...

Today I have 2 almost identical samples of Easter Sweeties by Lili of the Valley - this must be one of the cutest images ever, don't you agree? I thought that the image itself was cute enough, and so decided to keep the cards rather simple otherwise (which helped with having them posted, too!). A bit of embossing here and there, some glitter and glossy accents, but not much more...! The lovely sentiment is a freebie stamp from a magazine from a few years back...

Have a look... CUTENESS ALERT!

I am entering the cards into the following challenges:
A Gem of a challenge - Spring is in the air
QKR stampede - Easter
Moving along with the times - Easter/Spring
Inky Impressions - Dots and stripes (see the egg pattern)
Passion for Promarkers - So Sentimental
Scrapki-wyzwaniowo - Inspired by a book - Brzydkie kaczatko H.Ch.Andersen

Now, hands up - who's off to the Lili of the Valley shop now, to purchase these cuties? :o) They have a set with bunnies, too! Don't have that one...yet! Maybe next year, lol.

Have a great week,

M.

Winner of the Blog Hop

Hi Everyone,

Apologies for announcing the winner only now, but things were a bit hectic in the last day or two... I got sick, and completely lost track of time! Eeek!

Anyhow, I hope you enjoyed the hop... I loved reading all the comments, and wouldn't mind having a good bit of traffic on my blog more often! ;-) Huge thank you and welcome to my new Followers, also! I hope you will pop over from time to time and enjoy your stay!

Random.org has helped me with choosing the winner of the card & candy, and the winner is... Saskia Pullen!!! Well done! Please contact me through the contact tab on my blog, and provide me with your address. Also, please let me know what you want me to do with the card - do I leave it blank, do you want me to print any messages inside, or do I write a little note from me to you...? :-)

Hopefully we'll have more hops in the future - it was fun, wasn't it?

Have a good evening,

M.

P.S. A new challenge started over at Divas today - Spring/Easter. I can't wait to see what you've created!

3rd Birthday Blog Hop with Divas by Design!

I am sooo excited today to participate in my very first blog hop! Divas by Design are celebrating their 3rd birthday today (HAPPY BIRTHDAY!), and we - the Design Team members - were asked to participate in a special birthday blog hop. How cool is that?!

You should have come here from Andie's blog (and oh boy is her creation cute!), next on your list is going to be Aunty Sue (oh yeah, some cuteness over there, too!).

Now, on to the card, the challenge information and... a surprise!

The challenge this week is the always very popular Anything goes. Please join us in the celebrations and participate, we can't wait to see your creations! As you will see from the information over at Divas, this week there's a prize to be won not only on the main challenge blog, but you are actually also in a chance to win something on each of our blogs! All you need to do is to leave a comment (one comment per person per blog, please!) on as many blogs participating in the hop as you want to (I would encourage you to try your luck on all of them! I know I would do so!), and... keep your fingers crossed :o)

My prize for the winner on my blog is the card I have created for this week's challenge, and... a small candy! Please leave a comment under this post if you want to be in a chance of winning the card, and if you want to get the candy also - I would appreciate if you could also follow my blog, in addition to leaving the comment.

I have actually made 2 cards this time, both very similar... One is going to be sent to my beloved Godmother for her birthday, and the other one could be yours! The winner gets the chance to choose which of the 2 cards they want.* I can send the card blank, can stamp/print a sentiment/message inside the card, or write a few words inside the card - I will agree on the details with the winner...

The die cut shape is a Marianne Design Creatables Die - Butterfly 3 - LR0115
The papers come from the Prima Marketing collection: Sunrise Sunset 12x12

And here's a photo of the candy - Whiff of Joy stamps, some ribbon, pink "Baby" confetti & little sparkly cupcake toppers:

I hope you like my butterfly creations, the blog hop and the prizes. Now get commenting, following, and hopping! Next stop - Aunty Sue. Have fun!

I am entering the cards into the following challenges:
Inky Chicks - Butterflies
A gem of a challenge - Ribbon and lace

Have a great day,

Mirella

* Sorry, Peeps, I only realised now that I have to post the card to my Godmother this Monday already, hence you won't be able to choose the card, but you will still have the chance to decide how you want me to finish the card!
