Hi Everyone,
Apologies for the delay, I usually try to post every Monday, but this week we had a Bank Holiday (aka a day off!) in Ireland, and I was spending this day with the family. Tuesday somehow flew by, and before I even realised it - it's Wednesday!
Today I am sharing with you a card inspired by the fabulous Yoonsun Hur. She's an amazing artist, and if you have not heard about her, you should definitely check her out!
Truth be told, I made the card with the Sparkle and Shine challenge in mind, and that's what made me choose the particular colour combo on the card. I saw Yoonsun's card a few weeks back, during the SSS release, and I remembered the general idea of her design when making my card... When I was finished, I looked up Yoonsun's card again, to link it on my blog, and... Oh my! I couldn't believe how similar they are! That was totally unintentional! Of course, Yoonsun's one is much prettier! :o)
I made my card on Tim Holtz watercolour paper, using Distress Inks for stamping, and blending the colours out with some water mixed with Perfect Pearls (hence a lot of shine, love it!). I tried adding some extra colour to the pinkish/reddish flowers, but I found this a bit too strong, hence I didn't proceed that way with the other flowers - I think the delicate effect is much better (note to self for future cards with a similar design!). Both the flowers and the sentiment are by Concord & 9th - you can see the exact products linked at the end of this post.
To finish off the card, I made some golden splatters here and there, and also added some golden shine to the "beautiful" die cut word by brushing over it with a dry-ish brush dipped in some of the golden paint. As a final touch, I added a few PPP droplets - I think they look lovely on floral patterns.
I hope you like the final effect:
I die cut the sentiment 3 times and layered it, to add some sturdiness. By the way, big kudos to Concord and 9th for making the dot over "i" linked to the "t" - fabulous idea, and it made the assembly so much easier and less fiddly! Can you see the golden shine on the word? :o)
I am entering the card into the following challenges:
