Hello Everyone,
I couldn't wait till tomorrow - I had to share this card with you today! It's such a gorgeous, sunny day here today in Dublin (finally!!!), and it almost feels like summer, hence sharing a card full of colours and flowers seemed really adequate!
I decided to try out a slightly different approach to the card I shared last week, and this time I stamped the flower images with black Versafine ink and quickly covered them with clear embossing powder. It not only added a nice shine to the images, it also made my watercolouring easier.
For the base, I used a cheap watercolour paper I got in Lidl the other day - I wanted to give it a go. It did the job just fine, in my opinion. One thing to bear in mind, though - it's not as white as the Ranger watercolour paper. In this case, I didn't mind the yellowish tint, however.
I think I used most of my Distress Ink colours on this bouquet, haha - I was just mixing them all and playing with different shades, really! I started with a quick messy wash over all of the images, and then painted the images this time staying within the lines with a slightly darker shade - I think the end result is pretty cool! I also did some splatters here and there with the remaining bits of ink I had on my little "pallet" (a laminated sheet of A5 copy paper).
For some bling, I added the smallest sequins out of my Simon Says Stamp "Moonshine" mix. This time, I used a WPlus9 stamp set for the sentiment, and some thickers for the "50".
