Holiday Bows with love

Hi Everyone,

Happy Monday! Hope you're all fine. We had a fun weekend full of fresh sticky snow here in Helsinki - our daughter had a ball playing outside :o)

Today I am sharing with you a card I made with stamps I recently won from The Ton - I was eyeing up these Holiday Bows for a while now, so I had to play with them as soon as I got them. And yes, I could have made a Christmas card but instead, I wanted to try my luck in the current challenge over at The Ton's blog... The only problem was, the challenge is "Love".  I kept thinking how to incorporate the love theme into the only 2 stamp sets that I own by The Ton, and this is what I came up with - a gift for a loved one!

It's a very simple card, and doesn't require a lot of supplies at all, but I think that it is quite nice. Plus, it was cool to play with some ribbon again - I haven't used ribbon on my cards for ages! I will definitely be making more "gifts" like that for Christmas!

All year cheer with WPlus9

Hi Everyone,

A very quick post today, since the weather is lovely and I wanna spend as much time outside with the little one as I can :o)

Today's card was inspired by my Instagram crafty friend Natasha Valkovskaya (if you don't know her, I encourage you to check her out - she's amazing! Feel free to let her know that I sent you) - when I saw her card with the WPlus9  "All year cheer" set, I knew that it would be perfect for the current colour challenge over at Seven Hills Crafts!

I added some bows and eyelashes to my little birdies, to turn them into two girl-birds, gossiping on a branch. And, of course, some shimmer! 

And here it is, hope you like it.

It's all about butterflies - Mudra CT projects intro

Hi Everyone,

Sending happy thoughts

Hope you've had a good start of the week. I'm sorry I didn't post yesterday - life got in the way... But I'm here today, and I will for sure be back later this week - I have another post coming up over at Mudra Craft Stamps, so stay tuned! 

Today I am sharing a relatively quick card I made for a friend's birthday - it was mostly quick due to the fact that I CASEd one of my own previous designs (and The Flower Challenge's design), hence less thinking and fiddling with layouts was involved. The card is on its way to her, and I hope she likes it - she's one of those ladies who likes her florals, so I think it should be up her alley ;o)

As you can see, I used a lot of gold on this card - I recently really enjoy it! The colours were inspired by the current Altenew challenge. I used Altenew's Beautiful Day set, which I am truly in love with - funnily enough, though, I rarely use the layering possibilities of this stampset, and there are still elements I have not used at all... so I still have plenty to play with!

I only used the outline of the flower on this card, which I heat embossed in gold. I also used one of the detail layers, and I simply stamped them with Versamark, creating a watermark on the hot pink cardstock - it's a very subtle detail, but it's really pretty in person. 

I added some more gold to the card, by flicking some watered down Delicata ink onto the front panel. I also heat embossed the edges of the green mat with the same gold embossing powder I used for the flower - I was really pleased with the look of that! 

I love the way the card shines when looked at at an angle - and imagine, no Wink of Stella this time! ;o)

Have a Beary Special Birthday

Hi Everyone,

Happy Friday! Have you had a nice week? We've had some lovely and truly spring-like days here in Helsinki, but today it's gloomy and raining... oh well... it'll get better! :o)

My little daughter and I are going to a first birthday party tomorrow (yay, Amelia's first party in Helsinki!), and so I made a quick card for the birthday boy. I truly adore those MFT bears, I think they're fantastic for cards for kids, and so I had to use one of them on this card. 

The background was done on the canvas paper from Lidl I mentioned not so long ago (yep, once I re-discover a tool/supply, I often use it a few times before putting it away again), with the use of Distress Inks and some water mixed with Perfect Pearls - pity you can't see all the sparkle in the photos! There's also a lot of Wink of Stella on the coloured image, of course!

I kept the card pretty simple, but I love all the dimension on it, and the sparkle. And I think the bright colours are very fitting for a child. I hope little Daniel and his parents like it! The colours were influenced by the current challenge over at Seven Hills Crafts (see inspiration photos below).
