Happy Easter everyone!
Just wanted to pop over for a moment, and wish you all a blessed Easter! And if you don't celebrate it, I hope you get to spend today (and possibly tomorrow) with your loved ones, and get some well deserved rest! :o)
I was as usual late to the Easter-cardmaking party, even though I honestly need only a handful of cards each year - since I only send Easter cards to the closest family members. So, I needed a quick and cute design for mass-production.
I came up with this:
I created a little cloud stencil, by die-cutting some acetate with the cloud border die by Mama Elephant. I then sponged over the acetate with Distress Inks - and voila, the sky was ready!
I have the coordinating dies for this set (I don't have many of these, but I think this set of dies is very versatile, as it has plenty of shapes that can be used on their own, without the stamps), which helped hugely with the design I came up with - I used the dies for both cutting out the little chickie shape, and for the egg shells. I could have used the little grassy bit, too, but I had a vision of a grassy border all across the card, hence used my MFT dies for that.
The images of the chicks were stamped on a separate sheet of Neenah paper, and coloured with ProMarkers. I then adhered them behind the main panel, for some slight dimension. The shells were die-cut from the same coloured cardstock I used for the card bases (for which I mainly used scraps, woohoo!), and covered with the Sparkle Pen.
Then it was just a matter of getting the sentiments stamped (I used a set that came with a crafty magazine a few years back - I actually don't own many Easter stampsets so didn't have much to choose from!) & adhering a few sequins here and there.
I am entering these into the following challenges:
SSS Work it Wednesday - Spring has sprung
SSS Wednesday Challenge - Spring colour inspiration
Oh, and another chickie was stamped on the inside, too, but I forgot to take a photo of these, oops!
Yes, I could have made these a bit more elaborate and complex, but there was no time, LOL! I think they still turned out quite cute :o)
Have a great day,
Mirella
An adorable set of cards, Mirella, and the perfect design for mass-producing! Thanks for sharing it with us at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge!
