Hi Everyone,
Have you missed me? ;o) I have had a wonderful holiday, I couldn't have wished for more, truly! I am still a little bit in a holiday mode, but surely soon it'll hit me that it's time to be back in reality, haha. Until the next holiday - roll on July!
I am a bit last minute with my entry for stage 3 of the CASometry Challenge, but I knew this would be the case - I did warn you! I am glad that I still made it in time, though. 3 down, 2 to go!
Stage 3: 1 random stamp set + embossing
I decided to continue picking random stamp sets from my NBUS (Never Before Used Stamps) pile - it's finally shrinking, and I feel good with using stuff I haven't used before. The stamp set I used today, Colour Chameleon by Clearly Besotted, has been in the still-to-use-basket for around half a year now, so I'm really glad that it got randomly chosen.
For the purpose of the challenge, I decided to go with both heat embossing and dry embossing, and I am quite pleased with the result. I just wish my heat embossing turned out a bit neater, but I decided not to re-do the card and just go with it. I think it's still pretty cool.
My design got inspired by the sentiment itself (by the way, kudos to Clearly Besotted for including both the UK and the US spelling of the word colour/color!) - I masked off the little chameleon before stamping all the colours of the rainbow around him. Yes, the rainbow obsession is going strong!
I felt like the card needed something extra, so I covered the chameleon in sparkle, adhered a few sequins here and there, and finally added a googly eye - perfect! For the dry-embossed background panel, I used a Mudra stencil - the pattern seemed quite fitting, so I decided to use the stencil rather than a traditional embossing folder.
Isn't he cute?
I am entering the card into the following challenges:
CASometry Challenge 3, stage 3 - Heat embossed sentiment & dry embossed background panel
I can't wait to see what Anna has prepared for us for tomorrow's stage 4. Are you playing along?
Have a great day,
Mirella
