Hi Everyone,
Hope you're all doing fine, and having a nice weekend.
I cannot believe that our little Hanna is not a newborn anymore, she's now (I guess?) officially a baby - 4 weeks old today! WOW, time flies!
I really wanted to participate in some of the current MFT challenges, since I really like the colour combos & layouts that they are proposing, however - due to lack of loads of time for crafting - I had to try being super creative this time, and combining all of the challenges into one design.
Truth be told, I actually really like how it all came together - I don't feel like this design had to be "pushed" too much in order to meet all of the requirements. It's actually been one of those few times when the card turned out nicer than I imagined! Plus, there's a special bonus - I coloured loads more images, so I can probably make another card or two with the leftovers! YAY!
And just an additional note - if you ever wondered whether or not to invest in ZIG markers - trust me, the investment is worth it! I absolutely love colouring with them, and they're much easier (and less frustrating) for me to handle than Copics. And no, you don't need them all, even though we probably would want them all, haha... I got the 48 set and I believe it's totally sufficient, maybe even the 36 would have been enough...
Now, onto the card:
Everything you see (bar the colouring mediums, cardstock and embossing powder) is made with MFT products - the characters come from various MFT stamp sets (Ewe are the best, Bitty Bears, Cooler with you & Beary Special Birthday), the banner for the sentiment and the star have been cut using MFT's Die-Namics... and for the rectangles, I used MFT's tag dies, and just cut off the top parts of the tags - I was quite pleased with this idea, by the way ;o) There was lots of fussy cutting involved, too... Thank goodness I enjoy it!
There's a little bit of dimension on the card - some of the characters are popped up on foam, and there's also loads of sparkle - just the way I like it ;0) I was thinking of adding sequins or other embellishments also, but in the end decided not to - the card is already sufficiently busy as it is, I think...
I must say, the pink + grey/black colour combo is fantastic, and I do hope I remember to play with these colours more in the future!
I am entering the card into the following challenges:
Have a great week,
Mirella
