Birthday card for a child with Neat and Tangled Wild Ones

Hi Everyone,

Today's project is a really fun one! I hope you like it as much as I do. 

Before I get to the card, however, have you heard of The Daily Marker 30 Day Colouring challenge? If you haven't, you should most definitely check it out, it's so much fun! It's a great opportunity to have some relaxing "me time" every day (even if just for a few minutes), but also to make new crafty friends, and you can even win some prizes, too! 

Back to the card - as I am participating in the challenge (I might not be able to join every day, but I'll try as often as I can), I decided to play with images from my NBUS pile (Never Before Used Stamps)... yes, you read right, it's a pile :o) I am also hoping to practise different colouring mediums - I started with Copics and ProMarkers, since I haven't used these for ages (and boy, am I rusty with these!), and I am planning to move to watercolour/ZIGs and coloured pencils... If I manage to live up to my plans - time will tell...

First off, the super cute "Wild ones" set from Neat and Tangled. I didn't have any particular plans for these images when I started colouring, but as I continued with the images and started planning a card with them, I thought they would be perfect for my daughter's birthday card. Believe it or not, it will be my girl's 3rd birthday, and it's the first time I am actually making a card for her! Talk about cobbler's children... ;o) 

I finished the card last night and I have to say - I am really pleased with the end result. I didn't add too many embellishments, since I'm a bit concerned about a 3 year old handling enamel dots and sequins, but there's a tiny bit of dimension, and quite a bit of sparkle and shine. I also love the sentiment - Go wild. My hubby wanted to call our daughter Wilde (after Oscar), and even though she ended up with a different name, she for sure is one wild creature, haha!

Fussy cutting all of these images did take a bit of time, but I think the end result was worth it!
