Hi Everyone,
It's been a while since I last wrote here, hasn't it? Different things (aka LIFE) happened, and I was not able to craft as much in the recent weeks as I would have liked to, but hopefully it will be getting better now!
Hope you all had a great summer? Or are still having one, seeing that it's only the middle of August, LOL.
My mojo was hidden somewhere under my craft desk due to this long break from crafting... I was really reluctant to make anything, as it simply seemed like I was out of ideas... And then a fantastic email came from MFT - it's time for Summer School 2018! Let me tell you - there is no better way to get those crafty cogs turning than a fantastic challenge!
Day 1 is all about Monochromatic projects. I will be honest with you - I started prepping all my favourite pinks and purples, and then... decided to go out of my comfort zone a little bit, and work with some blues instead! I also opted for a more less CAS (Clean and Simple) design, as - again - it's not my forté, and it's good to challenge oneself every now and again in different ways!
I happened to receive this cool Friend Die from one of my crafty friends, Koren (thanks, Koren!) in the last few days - it was on my desk, so I decided to use it! :o)
And here's the result:
I'm pretty happy with how this turned out - especially, with how straight all the die cut "friend" words are!
I wanted to add a few sequins or embellishments to the front panel, but in the end decided not to - sometimes less is more, right?!
Can't wait for day 2 of the Summer School - crafty homework is the best homework, I tell you!
Have a great day,
Mirella

Great idea repeating the friend cut out, Miranda! I like the subtle splatters in the background. What a great friend card! Thanks so much for sharing your amazing make with us at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! hugs, Maura
ReplyDeleteoops, not sure if I said Mirella...that's what I meant to say...and the ombre is a cool touch too!
