Hi Everyone,
Hope you're all doing well! I have had a loooooong break from crafting, much longer that I had originally planned, but I am happy to say that I am slowly getting back into it. I missed making cards so very much, and I am finally becoming my happy self again, spending some evenings in my little crafty corner... I might not be fully up to speed yet, but I'll get there! :o)
Today, I am joining Jenn Shurkus again, with her Get Cracking On Christmas initiative. My personal plan/goal, is to make at least 2 Christmas cards every month, but I currently have only 1 card to share with you. Make sure to come back in a few days, though, as I am planning to add a little something here, once it's finished (hopefully over the weekend). --> Update: now added!
This month, it's all about CAS-like designs, with the focus on a section of a background, and one image. I used my Trinity Stamps layered stencils for the backgrounds - they make masking off parts of your project so easy, and I love that I can use them over and over again. I used Distress Oxide Inks and some metallic paints for the night sky background, and I coloured the sweet image by Hello Bluebird with my Copics - going for a very simple, only partial colouring. I felt like I wanted a bit more of a pop of colour, and in the end I also added the little bird to my scene. For the sentiment, I opted for a more general one, rather than a Chrismas-specific one, as I have a lot of friends who don't really celebrate Christmas as such but I still like to be able to send them something, come December.
I die cut the panel with my recently favourite die by Pink Fresh Studio (get ready, you'll see it used A LOT on my coming projects!), and I adhered it to a wine-red card base.
And voila!
Are you going to crack with us this month? ;o) If so, please do share!
Stay safe and crafty,
Mirella
