Get Cracking on Christmas 2021 - April

Hi Everyone,

I took a little break from crafting recently, hence had no Christmassy post for you last month, but I am back and ready to rock and roll again!

As you know, Jenn Shurkus, myself, and some other crazy crafters are coming together each month, to inspire you to make Christmas cards throughout the year, in order to avoid drama and tears in November/December ;o) I did that on my own account last year, and it worked a treat, Christmas was finally stress-free in relation to cards, so I am sticking to it from now on! This year, I made two almost identical in concept cards, but with a completely different feel, due to different colour schemes. My husband finds one of the cards Christmassy, the other not at all (I guess he's a traditionalist), and I suppose I am usually all for the more traditional colours myself, but I must say - I think "pink Christmas" is a winner for me this time! I have tonnes of friends who don't celebrate Christmas as such, for different beliefs & religions reasons, but they still are in the Christmassy mood & I still want to send some of them a card in December, so I think the pink version will be perfect for one of them! Fun, contemporary and girly... 

I used the gorgeous Merry Little Christmas cling stamp set by PinkFresh Studio for my cards, and all I really did was some heat embossing, and some ink blending. Reds, whites and golds for the more traditional card, and pinks, whites & some navy for the other one. 

You will note that the red card has some detailing with a white coloured pencil, too - I thought it was a nice addition, and tied in well with the card base, and the heat embossed sentiment. 

The red card is one of those that doesn't really make the right impact when photographed in the more traditional way (golden heat embossing is hard to capture!), hence why I started with the close up photos, as I think you can appreciate it more that way. In real life, it's truly luscious and gorgeous.

For the pink card, I went with an identical concept, just switched the colours & the embellishment placing a little bit. Also, instead of white pencil details, I opted for some metallic splatters, and some metallic gold paint around the edges. I love how the white, gold and pink goes with the navy!

Again, the gold details don't photograph super easily and well, but I hope you can see some of the details I mentioned before in the close-ups.
